came back to us?
OUR VALUES
In Benton Harbor, we know that we pull through by pulling together. And we all want our children to have an education that imparts honesty about who we are, integrity in how we treat others, and freedom to pursue our dreams.
OUR VILLIAN
But for years, certain politicians have denied some children the resources needed for a quality education based on what they look like or where they live. They saddle our district with enormous debt, then deliberately deprive our schools and students the resources they need to thrive, all while under paying and under-resourcing their educators.
OUR VISION
But when we come together, we can make our leaders put families and our children’s futures first by erasing the district debt that’s holding us all back, and we can hold those who’ve been taking our collective resources accountable. Together, we can make all of kids’ dreams a reality by first delivering a fresh start.
In 2012, the City of Benton Harbor's Emergency Manager (EM) changed land use zoning. He took away the school zones and made them residential zones instead, which removed all of the educational zone protections from the city of Benton Harbor.
